The Renegade project, developed by Charles Garand, drew attention to a rarely-discussed topic — the racism, sexism, and homophobia sometimes perpetuated by minorities within communities. The goal was to expose the perpetuation of self-hatred through personal stories from people who have faced prejudice from members of their own community.
