Good Taste May Be Emphasized

The title refers to the Motion Picture Protection Code, which was asserted between the 1930s and 1960s. The Code demanded that only “good taste may be emphasized” when considering media, meaning no interracial or non-heterosexual couples could be represented.

Our photo exhibit and short film present diverse couples, revealing that it is in good taste to portray all varieties of loving relationships. Through highlighting the pure happiness and bliss that is produced with love, we hope to show that the representation of all people should always be encouraged. While the couples may vary, their love resonates equally, proving that love truly is a stronger force than any form of oppression.
